Logo History

This logo was designed by Kemuel Guthrie, artist and Roving Ambassador of the State of the African Diaspora. It represents Africans from different parts of the world, working together to produce excellence. This logo is an artistic variation on the flag of the State of the African Diaspora.

The colours are the traditional colours of Africa and of Pan-Africanism. Green stands for nature; red for blood wound but also courage; yellow evokes the sun and the gold, therefore it means glory, wealth, material, and spiritual; black symbolizes foundation and strength.

The U, like University, or Unity, may be seen as a nest. The six golden birds are flying from all the regions of the Diaspora (South America, Central America, and the Caribbean, North America, Europe, Asia, Oceania), and they are coming back to Africa, at the center of the picture.

The rising sun symbolizes the source of creation and also knowledge. Africa and Diaspora being reunited, a new era is starting.
